- Woodland habitat
- Leaves with coarse teeth and broad leaves
- erect flower clusters
- Blooms in late summer and fall
The shade-loving goldenrod is not as “in your face” as its cousins that grow in fields, but it has a quiet elegance.
This patch of land is on a small spit where I intend to put a bench with a view of my back creek.
Once I have cleared the brush, this is what the bench will look like. The photo was taken during winter but it gives you an idea.
I don’t usually visit this area during the fall because I’m too busy looking at everything. Colchicums . It is encouraging to see how many native plants are still around, despite the invasion of invasive species. The zig-zag pattern of goldenrod reminded me that each season is beautiful.
